Bashar Assaf is a Beirut-based Lebanese fashion designer who kickstarted his career soon after graduating from the “École Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode” (ESMOD), Beirut by working as a costume designer for award winning advertisements and films around the MENA region. In December 2012, he was selected as one of Starch Foundation’s designers, a non-profit organization for emerging talent launched by international fashion designer Rabih Kayrouz, and creative director Tala Hajjar.

Developing a unique style that marries minimalism with feminine lines, the brand quickly took form with its signature cuts and ethereal prints, gaining critical acclaim in fashion shows and exhibits across several fashion capitals. The brand was featured at Somerset House in London, Wallpaper* magazine exhibition and garnered nominations for the acclaimed International Woolmark Prize and Elle Style Awards.

As creative director of his namesake brand, executive designer for luxury brand Diamondogs, talent hunter for Starch Foundation, and stylist for global advertisements, Bashar’s versatile skills are tools he uses to balance the artistic, business and curatorial demands of today’s fashion world.
